Curator Petra Ponte will be a resident at Kunsthuis SYB until 19 December.

On Sunday November 3, the 8th Sybren Hellinga Art Prize was awarded to visual artist Vytautas Kumža.

Kunsthuis SYB is proud to announce a group exhibition at SYB, which will open on October 19. The exhibition features works Caz Egelie, Vytautas Kumža, Alina Lupu, Samuel Otte and Natalia Papaeva. 

With: Yanick Soland, Petter Dahlstroem Persson, Jamie Kane, Daphne Simons, Josie Perry, Berglind Erna Tryggvadottir, Jake Caleb, Annabelle Binnerts, Lukas Messner, Lucia B. Mendoza and Bernd Krauss.

Jasper Coppes has been working at SYB since August this year. At SYB, Jasper has been editing a film he shot in Greenland over the Summer, and is also using the location of Beetsterzwaag to research the Frisian landscape (especially the Wadden).

Jasper Coppes will be in residence from the 5th of August, and he will be presenting his work at SYB on Saturday the 14th of September (during Open Monumentendag). From 22 June, Ash Kilmartin will be a resident at SYB, where she will be working on her project Klokkenstoel (Manuscript Illuminations). In the first weekend of her residency, during the Art Weekend of Beetsterzwaag, she will share an installation that was previously shown in Attent, Rotterdam.

In May and June, Kunsthuis SYB welcomes Dutch/Irish artist Seán Hannan. He will delve into the controversial 17th diplomat, historian, and publicist Lieuwe van Aitzema, who has been branded a spy and a traitor by many historians.
